Aksaray University Ortaköy Vocational School of Higher Education, Department of Machinery and Metal Technologies, offers two associate degree programsthe Machinery Program and the CNC Programming and Operation Programto train qualified technical personnel for the industry and manufacturing sectors. With a modern educational approach and a curriculum aligned with Industry 4.0, our department prepares students for the technologies of the future.These programs are designed for students who wish to specialize in machine manufacturing, design, maintenance, and quality control. In theoretical courses, topics such as technical drawing, materials science, machine design, and hydraulic-pneumatic systems are covered, while practical training provides skills in CAD/CAM software, machining and non-machining manufacturing techniques, and maintenance-repair practices.Our graduates can work in positions such as CAD designer, technical draftsman, CAM programmer, or production supervisor, and they may transfer to undergraduate programs such as Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering through the Vertical Transfer Exam DGS.The CNC Programming and Operation Program began accepting students in the 20252026 academic year. This program aims to train specialized technicians in the programming and operation of CNC Computer Numerical Control machines. In addition to theoretical courses on G and M codes, CAD/CAM systems, and Industry 4.0 technologies, practical training is provided on modern CNC machines. Internships and technical visits organized in collaboration with industry partners allow students to gain experience in real production environments. Graduates can pursue careers as CNC operators, programmers, or production planning officers in the automotive, aerospace, defense, and machinery manufacturing sectors. Transfer to undergraduate programs such as Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering via DGS is also possible.Our department has an experienced academic staff consisting of two PhD faculty members and two instructors. We provide a strong infrastructure with modern CNC machines, computer laboratories, technical drawing classrooms, and practical workshops. Collaborations with companies such as Tezmaksan Academy and Sarıgözoğlu Machinery allow our students to gain pre-graduation work experience and career opportunities.Students are admitted to the Aksaray University Ortaköy Vocational School, Department of Machinery and Metal Technologies through the Higher Education Institutions Exam YKS.
